Off-Road Performance Features

Off-Road Capability

Engineered for off-road deployment, the Command-Trac 4×4 drive system propels the 2022 Jeep Gladiator and 2022 Jeep Wrangler. This part-time 4WD system quickly reacts to dynamic weather conditions and rough terrain. Both Jeep models may be equipped with a 4×4 drive system from the Selec-Trac series. Some manually adjustable settings for the drivetrain include 2H, 4H Auto, 4H Part-Time, Neutral, and 4L. When fitted with this high-end driveline, the Wrangler gets a low-range ratio of 2.72:1. This midsize SUV also offers the Rock-Trac 4×4 drive, delivering industry-leading handling on rocky trails. Creating a 4:1 low-range ratio, this exclusive 4WD system optimizes cornering on unpaved surfaces. Each Jeep model offers the Tru-Lok axles with fully lockable functions for optimal traction on rough landscapes. Likewise, the Sway Bar Disconnect maximizes articulation in the front suspension system of each vehicle. These Trail Rated Jeep models boast the Dana 44 axles with heavy-duty ratings. You could even add the patented FOX shock absorbers to the Gladiator. Both vehicles have multiple tow hooks, steel skid plates, and rock rails for withstanding brutal off-road conditions. Additionally, these versatile Jeep cars may be fitted with all-terrain tires that measure more than 30 inches in diameter.

Powertrain Features

Powertrain Features

Whipping out 285 horsepower, the 3.6-liter Pentastar engine block moves the 2022 Jeep Gladiator. Consuming unleaded gasoline, this V-6 engine churns out 260 pound-feet of torque. When combined with the appropriate hardware, the six-cylinder powerhouse ensures a towing capacity of 7,650 pounds. If you buy the 2022 Jeep Wrangler with the Pentastar powertrain, you could tow 3,500 lb. However, this V-6 engine adopts the eTorque technology on the midsize SUV. Both Jeep vehicles offer the EcoDiesel powerhouse, which dishes out slightly over 440 lb-ft of torque. When installed on the Gladiator, this diesel-burning engine supports a 6,000-lb trailering load. The Wrangler can tow 3,500 lb with this turbocharged powertrain. Additionally, this premium SUV offers a 2.0-L turbo engine that yields 270 hp and 295 lb-ft.
