Performance Features
Whipping out 420 net horsepower, a 3.0-liter engine block swiftly propels the 2023 Wagoneer L. Twin turbochargers control combustion in this six-cylinder engine, laid out in an inline orientation. Feeding on gasoline, the Hurricane I-6 engine twists out 468 pound-feet of torque. The 2023 Ford Expedition gets only 380 net horsepower from the standard 3.5-L engine. Built on a classic V-6 foundation, the EcoBoost engine has a torque limit of 470 lb-ft. Some trims get an extra 20 hp from the turbocharged engine. Both full-size SUVs use direct injection for precise and potent combustion cycles. When it comes to off-road performance, the 2023 Wagoneer L clearly differentiates itself from the Ford rival. For example, the Wagoneer L model offers the Quadra-Drive II 4WD system for tackling just about any surface. This well-engineered drivetrain works in sync with a rear differential, multi-speed transfer case, and the Traction Management System. All custom driving modes from the Selec-Terrain interface are ultimately processed by an eight-speed automatic transmission system. You won’t get as much off-road versatility from the 2023 Expedition’s Intelligent 4WD System. Providing 3.6 inches of on-demand ground clearance, the Wagoneer’s Quadra-Lift Air Suspension is unmatched by anything available on the Ford trim. The luxury model from Stellantis also has the Selec-Speed Control for low-speed, off-road trekking.
Interior Amenities
The 2023 Wagoneer L has a plethora of lavish interior amenities, such as heated and ventilated seats in leather wrapping. These first-row seats come with the traditional Italian Nappa or Palermo styling. Climate-controlled captain’s chairs are optional for the Wagoneer L’s middle row. This upscale vehicle also offers third-row seats with power-folding 60-40 adjustments. In addition to having dual 12-V DC ports, the Wagoneer model includes a standard 115-V AC socket. Likewise, the 2023 Expedition has an AC outlet rated at 110 V. Both full-size SUVs include a three-zone climate control system with electronic management and air ducts.
Technology Features
Stellantis unveils the fifth-generation edition of Uconnect firmware for the 2023 Wagoneer L. You can enjoy an array of applications on the 10.1-inch HD touchscreen. For example, TomTom powers the navigation and travel services in the latest multimedia center. The 2023 Ford Expedition boasts the SYNC 4A firmware, which hasn’t evolved as much as the Uconnect suite. Nevertheless, the FordPass Connect offers excellent all-around connectivity. If you want 360-degree views around the Wagoneer model, get the Surround View Camera. A similar camera system with split views is available on the Ford trim. You can add more visual technologies to the lavish Wagoneer L, like a head-up display with high-contrast graphics.
