Claiming a 285-horsepower rating per SAE metrics, the Pentastar V-6 engine propels the 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon. Augmented by variable valve timing, the 3.6-liter powertrain delivers 260 pound-feet of torque. This six-cylinder engine is mated to a manual transmission system that makes six gear ratios. Both Jeep SUVs are available with the eTorque technology, including a 48-V belt starter/generator for instant delivery of torque on the low end of the tachometer. Boosted by an individual turbocharger, the optional 2.0-L engine whips out 270 hp. Utilizing direct injection, the turbo engine dishes out 295 lb-ft. These Trail Rated Jeep models also offer the 3.0-L EcoDiesel engine that twists out 442 lb-ft. Consuming diesel fuel, the V-6 propulsion system produces up to 260 hp. Regardless of the powertrain selection, each Jeep trim tows a maximum of 3,500 pounds as identified by the SAE J2807. An eight-speed automatic transmission is available in two distinct versions for enhanced performance. The most powerful alternator on the lineup generates a maximum of 240 amps. Additionally, the most capable auxiliary battery pack produces up to 700 cold-cranking amps.
Receiving the Command-Trac 4×4 drive at the assembly plant, the 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sahara is eager to tackle off-road trails. Such a signature drivetrain incorporates the Dana M186 front axle and Dana M220 rear axle. This versatile Jeep model is available with the Selec-Trac 4×4 drive, automatically disengaging the rear driveline on dry roads. Creating a 2.72:1 low ratio, this upgraded drivetrain could operate on the 4H Auto, 4L, 2H, and other custom settings. Having a third-generation design, the Dana 44 front axle is optional for the Sahara model. Attaining a 4:1 low ratio, the Rock-Trac 4×4 drive propels the Wrangler Rubicon on any unpaved surface. This tough model also includes the Off-Road+ Mode that calibrates several mechanical systems for maximum off-road trekking. Yielding a 100:1 crawl ratio, a rear axle with a 4.88:1 drive ratio is another stunning installation on this versatile behemoth. Additionally, the legendary Rubicon has locking front and rear axles with the Tru-Lok branding. Of course, the Front Sway Bar Disconnect enables industry-leading articulation on the trails.
You could add lots of custom Mopar accessories to the 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon. For example, the Doors-Off Mirror Kit keeps the outside mirrors on the vehicle when the front doors are removed. Some other premium Mopar items for these Jeep SUVs include the black fuel-filler door, hinge-gate reinforcement, Sunrider top, heavy-duty rock sliders, and colorful graphics. A sports bar, full-size spare wheel, front fog lamps, and halogen headlamps emphasize the durable design of these Trail Rated vehicles.
