Performance Features

Generating up to 471 horsepower, the 2022 Grand Wagoneer’s 6.4-liter engine block exploits the legendary HEMI technology. Made of cast iron, this V-8 powerhouse produces 455 pound-feet of torque. Developing a maximum of only 355 hp, the 5.3-L EcoTec3 engine propels the 2022 Suburban. Taking advantage of the Dynamic Fuel Management, this V-8 powerplant can’t make more than 383 lb-ft. Even when equipped with a 6.2-L engine, this full-size Chevrolet SUV still can’t beat the stunning capabilities of the HEMI engine. The all-new Grand Wagoneer model is powerful enough to tow 9,850 net pounds as stipulated by the SAE J2807 code. Despite its massive size, the Suburban can’t tow more than 8,300 lbs. Creating a final drive of 3.92, a two-speed transfer case optimizes the towing performance of the Grand Wagoneer model. Fixed front tow hooks and removable rear tow hooks are also standard on this luxurious SUV. Additionally, the Trailer Hitch Line-Up Assist provides superb utility for towing. Every trim comes standard with the Integrated Trailer Brake Control, which is optional on the Chevy model.

Off-Road Features

Off-Road Handling

Adopting the Quadra-Drive II design, the 2022 Grand Wagoneer’s 4WD system is optimized for off-roading. This patented drivetrain comes with an electronic limited-slip differential, which manages the rotation of the rear axle accordingly. With intervention from the Hill-Descent Control, this upscale Grand Wagoneer SUV goes downhill at a steady speed. The drivetrain is also synchronized with the Traction Management System, which calibrates a handful of mechanical metrics. With a few quick flicks of an electronic switch, you could select the Rock, Sand/Mud, and Snow modes. Additionally, the Selec-Terrain TMS offers the Auto and Sport modes for on-road driving. You won’t find as many off-road modes on the 2022 Chevy Suburban, which offers a 4WD system with a limited-slip differential and Autotrac transfer case. However, this three-row Chevy SUV is available with the Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension. Offering up to four height settings, this all-new suspension is comparable to the Quadra-Lift Air Suspension that has a total of five modes.

Technology Features

Infotainment

The 2022 Grand Wagoneer boasts the Uconnect 5C NAV infotainment center with a 12.0-inch touch screen. Having an articulating design, a 10.25-inch display is conveniently positioned below the multimedia console. This all-new Grand Wagoneer SUV also has a 10.25-inch monitor on the front passenger’s side. Additionally, a 12.3-inch digital cluster display delivers plenty of visual notifications in real-time. In clear contrast, the 2022 Suburban’s infotainment unit has a single touch screen that measures only 10.2 inches wide. This full-size Chevy SUV also doesn’t match the Grand Wagoneer’s 23-speaker sound system made by McIntosh.
