Off-Road Performance Features
The 2022 Grand Wagoneer runs on a 4×4 drive system from the industry-leading Quadra-Drive II series. Engineered to tackle some of the most rugged terrains in North America, this patented drivetrain provides a thrilling ride on your favorite off-road trails. An electronic limited-slip differential regulates the kinematics of this advanced drivetrain. Under certain conditions, this full-size Jeep SUV attains a 2.72:1 low-gear ratio. With five Selec-Terrain driving modes at your fingertips, you could conquer a wide range of surfaces. As their names strongly imply, the Rock Mode and Sand/Mud Mode boost traction on some of the most challenging terrains in the nation. You simply won’t get such off-road technologies on the 2022 Cadillac Escalade. In fact, this humongous SUV runs on a default rear-wheel drive (RWD) system that’s mainly tuned for on-pavement deployment. Despite having a two-speed setup, the AutoTrac transfer case isn’t suitable for off-road handling. Riding on the factory-activated Quadra-Lift Air Suspension, the 2022 Grand Wagoneer offers much better ground clearance and articulation than the Cadillac rival. Five custom modes are available for this class-exclusive air suspension system, which creates a differential of up to 3.6 inches in the vehicle’s lift.
Split into four zones, the 2022 Grand Wagoneer’s automatic climate control system is virtually unrivaled in the SUV segment of North America. You’ll only get three zones from the 2022 Cadillac Escalade’s standard automatic HVAC system. Nevertheless, both full-size SUVs boast climate-controlled seats in the first row. Some of the Jeep model’s signature interior appointments include American Walnut, suede, and Palermo leather with quilts. Likewise, the Cadillac model boasts Jet Black leather upholstery on the seats. You and the front occupant will embrace the 24-way seats inside the 2022 Grand Wagoneer. The Escalade certainly doesn’t offer as many power adjustments for its first-row seats. Standard second-row captain’s chairs with heating further distinguish this all-new Jeep SUV from the Cadillac rival. Additionally, the Grand Wagoneer offers a brilliant ambient lighting system with the soothing Relaxation Mode.
Running on the all-new Uconnect 5C NAV platform, the 2022 Grand Wagoneer’s infotainment console has a 12-inch touch screen. You can control the HVAC settings and other functions on a lower articulating display. A 12.3-inch instrument display is also standard inside this upscale Jeep SUV. The optional Rear Seat Entertainment System adds dual 10.1-inch monitors to the second row. A 10.25-inch touch screen gives the front passenger plenty of control over the entertainment and other settings inside the vehicle. You simply won’t get as many total inches of visual displays inside the 2022 Escalade. However, this premium Cadillac model has a 16.9-inch OLED monitor.
