Performance Features

Performance Features

The 2021 RAM 1500 offers a 3.0L V6 engine that employs the latest EcoDiesel technology. Entering its third generation on the American market, the turbocharged powertrain generates up to 260 net horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. Also designed to burn diesel, the 2021 Ford F-150’s Power Stroke V6 engine can’t crank out more than 250 hp and 440 lb-ft. However, this compacted graphite iron (CGI) engine is versatile enough to burn B20 fuel. The RAM 1500 also offers a 5.7L V8 engine that incorporates hemispherical combustion chambers. When boosted by the eTorque Mild Hybrid System, the HEMI powertrain attains a towing rating of 12,750 pounds. The F-150’s 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 engine has a much lower towing capacity. Both naturally aspirated engines deliver up to 410 lb-ft of peak torque. Exclusively built for the RAM 1500 TRX, the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine dishes out 702 hp and 650 lb-ft. This all-new HEMI engine is much more powerful than the F-150’s PowerBoost Full Hybrid System, which also makes a debut.

Having a 60/40 split, the Multifunction Tailgate is a major addition to the 2021 RAM 1500’s impressive exterior design. When the tailgate is lowered to a flat position, it can support a maximum weight of 2,000 pounds. This tailgate swings open by up to 88 degrees so that you can load wide items into the bed. As in previous years, the popular RamBox Cargo Management System is available for this light-duty pickup truck. Thanks to insulated covers and drain plugs, one storage box could be used as a cooler for tailgating events. A 115-volt power outlet with a waterproof covering is installed inside one of the storage boxes. Ford has also added a handful of notable exterior amenities to the 2021 F-150, such as the Tailgate Work Surface. Of course, the all-new Pro Power Onboard is one of the most exciting highlights of this light-duty pickup truck. When paired with the PowerBoost engine, this mobile generator produces up to 7.2 kW of on-demand electricity.

A 12.0-inch touch screen is the main high-tech gem inside the 2021 RAM 1500. You will enjoy better connectivity than ever before in the next-generation Uconnect 12.0 infotainment system. Similarly, Ford has added a 12.0-inch touch screen to the 2021 F-150’s large cabin. The revised SYNC 4 multimedia system is more advanced than the SYNC platform’s previous version. Both light-duty pickup trucks have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for smartphones. A 4G Wi-Fi network and SiriusXM Guardian are some other mobile-friendly features in the Uconnect 12.0 suite.
