Off-Road Capabilities Features
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara rolls on a 4×4 drive system with the Selec-Trac technology. This full-time 4WD system quickly adapts to inclement weather and difficult road conditions. The Rubicon model is equipped with a 4×4 drive system built on the Rock-Trac architecture. Featuring a two-speed transfer case, the exclusive drivetrain achieves a best-in-class crawl ratio of 84:1 when paired with a six-speed manual transmission system. The Rock-Trac system also creates a 4:1 low gear ratio for optimum handling on unpaved trails.
Additionally, the versatile Rubicon edition has the Off Road+ Mode controlled by an electronic button in the instrument panel. Measuring 33.0 inches in diameter, all-terrain tires give this Trail Rated Jeep model a ground clearance of 10.8 inches. High fender flares make a great combination with these durable tires that optimize off-road performance. Both 2021 Jeep SUVs offer an eight-speed automatic transmission system for nearly effortless shifting on paved roads or rugged trails. Front and rear tow hooks are standard on these robust vehicles that thrive on rough landscapes.
Performance Features
Generating up to 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, a 2.0L engine with a turbocharger is optional for the 2021 Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon. Both Jeep models can run on the Pentastar V6 engine that delivers 285 hp and 260 lb-ft. Just like the base turbo engine, this signature 3.6L powertrain supports a towing load of 3,500 pounds. The eTorque Mild Hybrid System augments the patented six-cylinder engine. Both Trail Rated SUVs offer a 3.0L engine that burns diesel. Adopting the EcoDiesel nameplate, the V6 powertrain unleashes slightly more than 440 lb-ft of torque. Rated at 260 hp, the diesel engine offers a highway fuel economy of up to 29 MPG.
