Tuned for sporty on-road handling and dynamic off-road trekking, the 2021 Trailhawk and Trackhawk are some of the most advanced models on the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee’s lineup. A supercharged HEMI engine and the Launch Control are some high-performance highlights of the aggressive Trackhawk edition.
The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk has the Pentastar V-6 engine that produces 295 net hp. Engineered for efficient performance, the six-cylinder powertrain cranks out 260 lb-ft of torque. If you select the 5.7-liter V-8 engine, you can tap into an additional 65 hp and 130 lb-ft. Implementing the HEMI architecture, this engine supports a towing load of 7,200 pounds. In some situations on the road, half of the cylinders will stop working to save fuel. The Trackhawk harnesses 707 hp from a 6.2-L engine that’s supercharged for best-in-class output. Having exhaust valves that are cooled by sodium, the V-8 propulsion system unleashes 645 lb-ft. Going from 0 to 60 MPH in 3.5 seconds, this powerful Jeep SUV can easily compete against other sports cars on the track. The Launch Control gives the Trackhawk a major advantage over competitors on the drag strip. You can turn on the Track Mode to optimize linear acceleration on paved surfaces. Built on the iconic TorqueFlite platform, an eight-speed gearbox is standard on both Grand Cherokee models.
The Trailhawk is fitted with all-terrain tires that measure 18 inches in diameter. Incorporating the patented Kevlar design, these rugged tires resist punctures and other damage from rough landscapes. Engineered for conquering off-road trails, a 4WD system from the Quadra-Drive II family is available for this Jeep Grand Cherokee model. An electronic limited-slip differential is integrated into the rear driveline for superb performance. A single wheel might receive all available torque from this highly adaptive 4×4 drive system. Coming from the exclusive Quadra-Trac line, a 4×4 drive with the Active On-Demand design propels the Trackhawk. This advanced drivetrain improves handling on the track and unpaved surfaces. Both Jeep SUVs come standard with the Selec-Terrain technology that boosts handling on mud, sand, rocks, and other terrains. With additional support from the Selec-Trac function, the Trackhawk maintains a steady pace on rugged trails. Additionally, both Trail Rated vehicles have superb articulation and maneuverability thanks to aggressive approach and departure angles.
The Uconnect 4C NAV is standard inside the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and Trackhawk. Inside the dashboard, the infotainment console includes a touch screen that measures 8.4 inches wide. A pinch-to-zoom function makes it easy to view 3D maps and other graphics on the monitor. With a few taps, you can access the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay portals. Made by Alpine, a sound system with nine speakers is installed inside both Jeep SUVs. You can add the 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system to the Trackhawk. This optional sound system includes a subwoofer and an 825-watt amplifier.
