Performance Features

Off-Road Handling

Demonstrating excellent performance in five off-road categories, the 2021 Jeep Cherokee claims the Trail Rated certification. This compact Jeep SUV has best-in-class articulation and water fording. Offering three patented 4×4 drive options, this versatile model indeed delivers class-leading traction on unpaved trails. You should select the Active Drive Lock drivetrain to navigate rugged landscapes with more confidence. This sophisticated 4×4 drive comes with the Rock Mode and four other driving settings that are part of the Traction Management System. The 2021 Ford Escape’s optional AWD with the Disconnect doesn’t offer as many driving modes. However, this compact Ford crossover SUV has the Electronic Traction Control for reliable all-weather performance. Featuring the 4-Lo Mode, a 4×4 drive from the Active Drive II series is optional for the 2021 Jeep Cherokee. Additionally, this Trail Rated SUV offers the Active Drive I technology that quickly switches between 2WD and 4WD depending on available traction. This versatile Jeep easily beats the Escape in ground clearance and maneuverability.

Technology Features

Technology Features

You can manage the 2021 Jeep Cherokee’s Off-Road Pages on an 8.4-inch control panel that’s flanked by air vents. With a few taps or swipes of the Uconnect 4C NAV monitor, you could adjust the Vehicle Dynamics, Pitch & Roll, Selec-Terrain, Suspension, and other menus. The Off-Road Pages keep track of a handful of mechanical metrics, such as the engine oil temperature, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and battery voltage. Measuring only 8.0 inches, the 2021 Ford Escape’s SYNC 3 infotainment doesn’t have such performance controls. Key highlights of this multimedia platform include the FordPass Connect and Ford+Waze applications. Both vehicles have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for easy smartphone integration. Speaking of mobile apps, the Uconnect 4C NAV comes with SiriusXM Guardian services. From the comfort of a smartphone or tablet, you can retrieve the Vehicle Health Report, remotely start the engine or send directions to the infotainment system. Bluetooth and 4G LTE Wi-Fi connections are available in both models. Incorporated into the Jeep Skill suite, Amazon Alexa links the Uconnect multimedia console with external devices at your home or work. The Ford+Alexa app is available for the updated SYNC 3 portal.
